Installing and setting up a Metamask wallet on your browser is a quick and easy process. Once you have set up your metamask account, you can start using it to store cryptos, sign transactions, participate in ICOs, dapps, etc.
Here is the idea; it’s good to have a personal account separate from the big bad world of the internet. One of these accounts is a cryptocurrency wallet, which allows you to store your digital currency in an encrypted file on your computer or phone.
This way, you don’t have to worry about someone else getting your password, and if you forget it, there’s no way for anyone to steal your digital money. One of the most popular wallets is called Metamask, and it’s pretty easy to get set up.
What is Metamask?
Metamask is a browser extension, or add-on, that has become a de-facto standard for creating and managing Ethereum accounts. Alongside its growing popularity as a browser wallet, people are also using it to interact with web 3.0 applications, such as OpenSea, Decentraland, and CryptoKitties, just to name a few.

If you do not have any existing account, select the second option and follow the steps below:

Step 3: Create a password
This step is very important. The password you create here will be used to unlock your wallet account. So, make sure that it’s strong enough. And do not forget it as there is no way to recover it.
Step 4: Add a private key
Click on “Continue”.
You will now enter your Private Key, a string of 12 random words. You can find this in the MetaMask extension by clicking on the “3 dots” icon and selecting “Copy Address To Clipboard”.
If you don’t have it handy, simply click on “I’m not sure” and enter the number below (1). This will generate a new key for you. Once your private key is copied to your clipboard, paste it into the text field and click on “Finish”.
